ROMAN EXCUTION METHODS
By: Fastkid

  • Following the Lex Porcia of 199 BC, Roman citizens couldn't be executed. They could be exiled. Non-citizens could still be executed,
  • Crucifiction was the most common method of execution.
  • Other methods of execution included being strangled or having throats cut
  • Noblemen were allowed to simple commit suicide either by their own sword, or by opening their wrists in a warm bath.
  • If you were executed in disgrace, you were thrown off a cliff in Rome called the Tarpeian Rock. (only in the early republic)external image jehovahs.witnesses.jesus.impalement.Justus.Lipsius.Crux.Simplex.1629.jpg
